Are you an ambitious developer who aspires to build beautiful, functional and award-worthy websites on a day-to-day basis? Search no further!

At Articulate we are looking for an awesome web developer to join the Pixels, our in-house design and development team. This will involve regular geeking out about website functionalities, accessibility and performance practices in a dynamic and friendly environment. Knowledge of HubSpot and some design experiences are both pluses, but what we value the most is enthusiasm and a strong portfolio that showcases your determination through stand-out designs.

In this role, you will

  • Work collaboratively with the Pixels, our team of designers and developers, contributing to the development of accessible and high-performing websites for our clients. Have we told you our team’s websites have won awards?
  • Apply best-practice research in UI/UX and data-driven websites to build modern websites that generate leads. This means that you like to stay up-to-date with new practices and follow the thought leaders in the field.
  • Work according to a development brief and a provided website layout design.
  • Participate in client discussions and develop a rationale to back up your development decisions. This means you like to be involved in the process as a whole and are unafraid to present your design rationale outside of your team.
  • Liaise with other departments and studio members, such as our lovely team of marketing copywriters, as well as our talented client partners in order to deliver the best possible work.
  • Be part of and contribute to improving our website delivery processes so that projects are delivered on time, our clients are satisfied and we feel proud of our work.
  • Understanding of our clients’ strategy and business goals, in order to translate those into functional websites
  • Perform site audits and build CRO recommendations
  • Advise designers on potential development challenges on a given design

Requirements

The ideal candidate should:

  • Solid mastery of JavaScript, CSS, HTML and VS Code with a major plus if you have experience in HubSpot, the HubSpot CMS and HubL.
  • Fundamental understanding of design and how design and development correlate.
  • Knowledge of GitHub (for version control and templating)
  • Some knowledge of Figma necessary for development

We're looking for people who:

  • Have great problem-solving skills and are able to think laterally in order to find logical solutions to technical problems.
  • Are able to work independently when necessary, but also understand how your role fits into the team. We do love bouncing ideas to one another, but also value the time each of us requires to get our work done.
  • Have great attention to detail and a methodical approach to work - we’re all about processes and logical next steps!
  • Are inquisitive and curious to learn things that go far beyond your field of work, with a genuine interest in websites, technology and marketing.
  • Recognise that feedback is a gift and embrace it in an ego-less manner, whether it comes from your team leader, one of your colleagues or a client.
  • Are passionate about website development and UX/UI practices and constantly look for learning opportunities. In short, aspire to progress and develop professionally.
  • Have an interest in or understanding of the fluid nature of web development, such as the implications of responsive and interactive design.
  • Are self-disciplined, proactive and unafraid of sharing new ideas within the company in a remote working setting.
  • Enjoy juggling multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Have the right to live and work indefinitely in the UK

Benefits

We offer:

  • A starting annual salary of £28,000-£35,0000 per annum

  • Phone and homeworking allowance of £336 a year
  • 33 days holiday a year (including bank holidays)
  • A commitment to 12 training days a year per person
  • Private medical insurance and employee assistance program
  • Workplace pension
  • Other benefits, such as access to the company Kindle library and LinkedIn Learning
  • The freedom and flexibility to work from home. We have been a remote-working company for more than five years. Our culture celebrates and supports remote working.
